I remember heading down to Housing Works Cannabis Company in January 2023, still not fully believing we would have finally a legal-recreational weed shop opening in New York.
When I open up a jar of fresh greens I still get the same excitement I did 20 years ago when I smoked my first bowl, and part of me hopes to never lose that sense of wonder: the smells, the look, the taste, the feels. I don't have the expertise needed to make any weighty observations, but my first take is that New York Farmers completely knocked it out of the park this year. This first blog is meant to highlight Smokey The Beaver's favorite nugs of the year, along with a few of my own. There is a lot of room for everyone in this market, from cultivators, processors, budtenders, dispensary owners and beyond.
